LG Washing Machine Problem Guides
Brand-specific troubleshooting for common LG washing machine faults, display codes and symptoms.
IE / 1E – Water Inlet
The washer is not filling quickly enough. Check the water tap, inlet hose and accessible inlet filter. If water supply is normal but the code returns, the inlet valve or water-level sensing system may need testing.
Read guideOE – Drain Error
The washer is not draining. Check for a kinked drain hose and clean the drain filter if your model has a user-accessible filter. A persistent fault may involve the drain pump or wiring.
Read guideUE / uE – Unbalanced Load
Pause the cycle and redistribute clothes evenly. Avoid washing one bulky item alone and confirm the washer is level. Repeated UE errors with balanced loads may need suspension or installation checks.
Read guidedE – Door Error
Check that clothing is not caught in the door and close it firmly. If the door is closed but the error remains, the door lock or its circuit may need service.
Read guideLE – Motor Lock
The drum may be unable to rotate. Reduce an overloaded load and check that the drum is not obstructed. If LE returns, stop repeated restarts and have the motor, rotor or sensor system checked.
Read guidePE – Water-Level Sensor
The water-level sensing system may not be reading correctly. A power reset may be tried once if the manual permits; if the code returns, professional diagnosis is recommended.
Read guideFE – Overfill
The machine has detected an overfill condition. Turn off the water supply and power if safe. If water continues entering while switched off, keep the tap closed and request service.
Read guideNot Draining
Check the drain hose and user-accessible filter according to the manual. Persistent failure may involve the drain pump or control system.
Read guideNot Spinning
Redistribute the load, check that the washer is level and avoid overloading. If the drum still will not spin, the drive or control system may need inspection.
Read guideNoise or Vibration
Check level installation, load balance and transport bolts on a recently installed front-loader. Loud new mechanical noise needs inspection.
